What is your favorite 45acp load using Bullseye and a 200gn LSWC?

200gr LSWC, 7.0gr WSF, WLP.
Very accurate with a good cast bullet, amazingly accurate with the Hornady 200gr JTC. ***oops, sorry, noticed that you wanted Bullseye "powder" not a 'bullseye' load. I've never tried that in 45ACP. -----The function of wisdom is to discriminate between good and evil. -- Marcus Tullius Cicero |

For "Bullseye" matches...3.7 to 4.0 is nice and very accurate. Back when I was shooting more matches, most shooters used Bullseye.

I don't as a rule shoot the lighter 45ACP bullets. Mine are at least 230gr. Raniers for the most part but I do use Bullseye powder, 4.7gr. That's good for 820fps out of my guns.

The coach of the local Jr. Pistol Team (which competes at Perry each year) has the team using 3.8 grains of Bullseye and a 200 grain LSWC.
It works the .45s well and is accurate. "Never part with your weapons when you are in the field. You never know when, on some lengthy plain, you may suddenly need your spear." From the Norse book of wisdom, The Havamal. |

I use one of three bullets in this weight range:
1 - H&G #130 2 - H&G #68 3 - Saeco #68 In no particular order of bullet preference: 3.5-4.0 grs of Bullseye for target use. For IPSC use, 6.5-7.0 grs of Unique or 5.5-6.0 grs of Bullseye. Dale53 |

+1 This load has always worked very well for me, both in M1911s with slide mounted dots, as well as 25-2s. Gun control, the theory that 110lb. women have the "right" to fistfight with 210lb. rapists. |

Had an old timer at the Bullseye line tell me to try 4.5 grains of Bullseye with a 190 to 210 grain lead ball. He was right I've used this load for 20 years without any problems.

I use 4.5 grains with cast or plated SWC 200 grain bullets. Works well in all my .45 acp handguns, both revolver and semi-auto. Joe Go NRA |

4.2 gr. behind a 200 gr. is the most accurate load in 3 guns I own.

5.0gr pushing a 230gr FMJ. Sorry, don't push lead in 45ACP. (Because I load for Glocks and a 625.)

For many years my favorite load was 3.9 gr. Bullseye behind the 200 gr. LSWC bullet.

I quit using Bullseye years ago. It is much dirtier than too many other powders that do the same things ballistically, often better. However, before I quit using it, I loaded 5 grains behind 230 gr.RNL bullets, and 5.5-6 grains behind 200gr. H&G 68s. These are pretty warm loads, making the old IPSC Major with much room to spare.

4.1 gr Bullseye with a 200 gr SWC. VV310 works with this load as well and is a lot cleaner. It's like lobbing mortar shells but they will go in the same hole if you do your job.

. I'm wanting to load Bullseye behind 230 LRN cast in a 4" 625 for IDPA. Need 715 FPS. Any advice on grains and accuracy at 20 yards? Thanks! |
