Hi - anyone found a source of 327 Mag brass? I can't find any at the usual places, but it could just be me (brainfade!) Big Grin

Got my 16-4 back from Hamilton Bowen. Great job! I've a couple of boxes of factory but want to play with my own loads.

All input welcome.

So far the only source of .327 brass is fired factory, which is why you can't find any.

Unless Starline chooses to make it, which isn't likely until they are reasonably sure of its profitability, this will probably continue to be the situation for at least the next couple of years. Federal will likely be the only manufacturer loading the cartridge as has continued to be the situation with the .32 H&R since its introduction.

Thank you for the response. That's kinda what I figured. I'll buy some more boxes and reload them when they're empty.

I got "burned" on the .32 H&R magnum after buying a new 631 (4") and a 16-4 (6"). The factory (Federal) descontinued component sales to individuals just about the time I bought the revolvers. So, I was stuck with factory loads. The loads were not particularly accuate (lead bullet loads) and the brass was TERRIBLE! I would loose several rounds to body splits in every box (starting with new).

Their was nothing wrong with the revolvers, just bad brass. I had a friend who was a commercial loader. He sold me a couple thousand "first nighters" (once fired) .32 S&W L brass at a VERY reasonable price. So, for years I just used S&W L brass. This was not a terrible handicap as I was mostly interested in target loads, anyway. Fortunately, my revolvers reponded quite well the the shorter S&W L brass.

After several years, Starline started producing .32 H&R Magnum brass. I bought a couple of thousand from them and the Starline brass is EXCELLENT.

After going through all of that misery, I will NOT be buying any .327 revolvers UNTIL Starline starts making brass for it. I will certainly NOT allow Federal to screw me around again (once burned, twice shy).
