Just snagged a pair of Dillon's a 550B thats maybe 98% together and an early 1050 thats got quite a few peieces missing. The 550B isn't a problem, I've got one and have used it for years.

I'm inexperienced with the 1050. Anyone know if they made many mods to the 1050 over the years, as this is an early one. And do they do REBUILDS. I'm thinking having the factory go through it and UPDATE as they replace may be the way to go.

I'm in these ZERO so I'm not afraid to spend a few bucks on the 1050.

Call Dillon, they'll take care of the 550. The 1050 will cost a little.

Email or call Dillon. I saw a post recently where they overhauled a RL550 for a nominal fee; like $40-50.

NO NO NO Frank, You are to send them all to me! I will take care of them for you! Wink

All kidding aside, yes, they will rebuild presses. At least that is what I have been told by them. I called a while back, as I have acquired 3 used Square Deals, and I they are some out of date too. I called the other day and got some parts coming for the one, and they said; "Man, that is an old one!"
I am thinking about sending them back one at a time for the same purpose. They will update them, fix them and send them back. They also told me all I have to pay for is the postage to them!

What a deal!

(Can you hear that little voice calling Frank? Its saying; "Send a 550 to Skip,Send a 550 to Skip,Send a 550 to Skip. Can you hear it Frank?)

Dillon is the best people you will ever deal with on customer service. You could tell them that in a moment of weakness you threw their press across the room and broke(whatever). You might get a chuckle on the phone or a "yea, it happens" but they don't care. The will do what needs to be done...new machine, used machine, abused machine. Now I know that there are some great CS companies out there but Dillon wins hands down. Other than that, they're ok!

A friend of mine bought a 550 with a cracked frame at a garage sale for $20, and Dillon replaced it and rebuilt it all current for FREE. He just paid shipping. They are great to deal with. One of these days I will have to upgrade my 20 year old 550 to a 550B. I never have seen the need to yet.
