IMO WST is too fast a powder for 9mm rounds. You would be better off using WSF for the 9mm but be careful when loading with a Lead bullet, you might get some Leading if you push the bullet too fast. Winchester recommends a charge of between 4.0gr and 4.7gr of WSF under a 124gr LRN bullet. A charge of 4.6gr will get you right around 1000 fps from a 4" barrel.

If you are going to buy W231 then there's no reason to buy WST. I use W231 or Clays for all my .38 Special target rounds. It's clean and very accurate.

I used to use WST when I shot only .38spcl and .45acp. Now that I reload .38, .357, .44spcl, .44mag and .45acp, I use 231 and 296 to cover all my needs. What do you use in your 44 spcls? I am guessing you already have 231 on hand?

I've had great performance w/ WST in 9mm, it's only slightly faster than W231. I use 4.8gr under 124gr bullets for 1100fps jacketed & 1150fps cast lead. Go to 5gr under 115grFMJ for 1150fps. Very accurate in several 9mm.
