Don't you have a bunch of them stuck in the cases you want to keep? I would not suggest using it in bottlenecked rifle cartridge though. If you were to get one stuck in a 223 case you could end up in some real trouble if you didn't get it out.

Walnut first if it has stubborn grit on it, followed by corncob. For brass that isn't too badly soiled I skip the walnut.
Problem with walnut is that it leaves a fine dust on the brass that I don't want to get in my guns. The corncob removes it and leaves them clean.
