There is a new free Alliant Powder manual out. It has a lot of new loads in it for pistol and revolver. Looks like there are a lot of Speer Number 13 loads in it and it is free.

You are talking about downloadable Reloader's Guide right? That has been out since January. I have complained to Alliant that that Guide is extremely lacking for lead bullet loads. If You look there are no lead bullet loads for 9MM, .40 S&W or 10MM; at least I couldn't find any. Also, they list loads by bullet instead of traditionally by powder. I prefer the old style data on one big fold out sheet like they printed in the 80's and 90's. It was much easier to pick a powder that would span several cartridges and bullets.

No, I am talking about a new paper one. I just looked at the on-line one and there are a lot of loads in the new paper one that are not in the on-line, at least that I can find.

Example in .44 Special there are loads for 225SWC gas check, 250 Keith, 200 Gold Dot, 240 Speer Lead SWC and 240 Speer JHP.

Alliant doesn't list as many loads on the web as they have available. I asked why once and I was told it isn't cost affective to put them up there on the web.

I have one of the books too. Gotta go look at the date but it lists data by bullet in rows and powders in columns.

Good information if you use there stuff, and I do!

Skip,

That scan was from the 1985 Hercules data. The 2004 and 2005 Alliant PDFs followed the same format.

Looking at the pistol data I suspect that most, if not all, of the data is from the latest Speer manual as virtually all of the data is for Speer bullets. Have to do a comparison to see.

Too bad as one thing I always liked about powder company data was the fact that it included data from multiple bulllet manufacturers, as Hodgdons still does.

One of the disadvantages of the consolidation of the firearms support industries which has been going on. Only has data supporting products from an associated company.

Alliant and Speer are both part of the ATK group, they're supporting themselves.

Do not I repeat do not waste your time on that crap it’s a conspiracy. There is only one true source the Speer #8. It is the true word the beginning and the end no other source of information is required.
