Just a thought yes the subject is reduced loads for the recoil sensitive but what about sensitivity to sound/concussion?

Good point on sound/concussion Dennis. I noticed that the 147gr/3.19 Titegroup loads were subsonic and had less concussion than the snappier 115gr loads I'd been using.

Your recoil shy spouse should double up on hearing protection.
And maybe more range time with a 22?

What would your recommend dennis?

I shoot a 147gr @ 850fps. I know that the "crack" of a 357mag is much harder to tolerate when out side shooting or hunting, real sharp. I have never noticed the 9mm to have that problem but when I shoot it, indoors or outdoors it is usually with ear protection.

Never tried 357 mag without hearing protection. But I did shoot 9mm, .40, 5.45x39 and 7.62x39 in the field without it. 7.62x39's are painful to the ears, the rest are loud. I doubt that in SD situation sound of 9mm round will be a factor.

FWIW

Mike

Here is the load I like the most.

Win 115 gr, FMJ
6.4gr AA#5
CCI primer
C.O.L. 1.135"

Very easy shooting load cycles my M&P every time and is very accurate,
