I wish though that they would purchase appropriate pistols and revolvers in each caliber and give velocities which are closer to what the customer can actually expect.

If they did that Rich, their 38spl data would look like BB gun stuff! Wink

I guess I misspoke earlier too. I get velocity with Hodgdon powders that matches published velocity data, just not theirs! Mine comes from some not to be mentioned, Older Manuals! Big Grin

I finally ran "THE LOAD" over the chronograph!

One difference was the primers. I used the Wolf primers obtained from a friend! Wink

Here are the results:

3" "J" Frame M60 -13
High: 1141fps
Low: 1123fps
Avg.: 1134fps
ES: 17.8fps
SD: 7fps
There were absolutely NO signs of high pressure from this little tank. It was a handful to say the least but shot to POA. Cases fell out when the firearm was turned muzzle up. A light push assisted in having the cases fall all the way out.
Big Grin

6" "K" Frame M14 -2
High: 1207fps
Low: 1193fps
Avg.: 1201fps
ES: 13.8fps
SD: 5.29fps!
These too fell out with a small bit of assistance from the ejector rod. Again, no pressure signs at all in the primer with this firearm either.
Big Grin

All in all a good night at the range. Humidity near 100% and in the upper 80s. Typical Northern Indiana late summer weather. Had son #2 with me. Male bonding time!

Skip,

I've forgotten which bullet you're using, but if it's a 358429 at about 170 gr, the energy out of the 3" is 485 ft lbs and out of the 6" it's 545 ft lbs! Big Grin If it's just a 158 gr bullet, the 6" is still producing 506 ft lbs and the 3" is 451 ft lbs.

Now, that's what I call respectable for a .38 Special. Wink

You also got the pressure up to where 4756 likes it and the ES dropped way down. Smiler

Very respectful, indeed!
