RELOADING 101, When I try to use plastic funnel for small mouthed cases the flake type powders stick all over and will not tap down.Is there any way to break the static bond. If I could find a small metal funnel would it have the same problem?

Yes, I found the same thing. I wiped with this and that, finally some terry cloth I had around, and it's quit. Can't make sense of it.

I normally wipe mine with a "previously owned" anti-static clothes dryer sheet, i.e. Bounce, or something like that.

An aluminum funnel probably wouldn't have that problem, but finding one that's shaped right and keeping it from being bent may be a problem too.

I had the same problem when my shop was in our basement garage. I washed the funnel with dish soap and air dried it and the sticking almost totally disappeared. Now that we have moved and my shop is air conditioned the issue rarely comes up. Another suggestion is to use a scale tray with a long neck that you can place deeper in the funnel.

I have heard that the dryer towel solution is a good one, but I got rid of the static by wiping it down with a damp cloth and then air drying it. After it had thoroughly dried, I passed about a quarter to a half pound of gun powder through it to break it in. This second step left a thin coat of graphite on the funnel. Since then I've never had another problem with gun powder clinging to the funnel.

Good replies all,I will give them a try. The way my funnel is working now I might as well flip the powder in the air and see what lands in the shell. Thanks
