Any discussion would be appreciated on the best diameter 255g LSWC for 625-9 MG in .45 colt.
.452 or .454 diameter? |

The diameter bullet you use to reload for your .45 Colt depends solely on your revolver. Since your M625 is a newer model revolver I highly doubt you will need to use a .454" bullet. That revolver should use a .452" lead bullet and a .451" jacketed bullet. Of course you should check and be sure that diameter is correct for your revolver but no one can tell you which bullet is better for your revolver without knowing it's diameter numbers.

Duckloads,
Slug the barrel by tapping a soft lead bullet into the muzzle and through the bore with a wooden dowel and small hammer. Use a micrometer or caliper to measure the diameter of the raised rifling on the bullet. This will tell you what the actual size of your bore is, WG840 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Those who beat their swords into plowshares usually end up plowing for those who didn't !" - Benjamin Franklin. This is the correct answer. There is no good reason for going to the bigger bullet in a gun that does not require it. |
