I'm due North of Houston about 150 miles. 5 years ago, we never saw hogs, but they're everywhere now! Eeker

As hot as it is right now, they pretty well stay where there's water available, but that'll change when it cools off a little.

Equalizer, I skin & butcher hogs about like you do. I think my Mom had one made into bacon. I'm on the north side of Houston quite a bit...Paul5388 is correct about the heat putting the hogs down into the creek & river bottoms during these dog days of summer. I won't harry them until it cools off a bit.
