I found 2 Speer .45 ACP brass cases at the range yesterday that had small primers. When I double checked my reloaded brass I discovered a Speer case that had the traditional large primer so there are 2 kinds of Speer brass out there.
I thought the only .45 ACP brass that had small primers was Winchester NT but apparently that's not true. What other .45 ACP brass is out there with small primers that we have to look out for ? Eeker

I am glad you posted on this. I have been reloading on my rock chucker for 45s and the Dillon 550b for 9mm and 40. I just changed the 550 over to reload 45s last night. I have not reloaded any 45s on the Dillon in the past but am going to start reloading a lot more and will be checking closely for the small primers as this will be a problem on the 550 as I switched it over to the large primer seater for 45 acp.

I don't believe the Speer brass is Berdan primed.

CCI/Blazer aluminum cased ammunition is.

Acording to my Hodgdon reloading manual the 45 GAP does use SP primers.

Check case lengths as the GAP cases look like ACP except for length and the small primer pockets.
