Hey all-

I'm the recipient of an RDP reloading press, and was wondering if any had information on it. I'm new to reloading and taking things S-L-O-W. It's a hand-me-down that needs some TLC. I'm taking pictures and soaking the rusty parts now. I'm in no rush, spending time reading up, and searching for good deals on components. Thanks for the help.

PLW45:

Somewhere in a back issue of Handloader's Digest or Gun Digest there is an extensive article on the RDP press. I remember that the article had several photos and that the press featured fancy bearings and massive construction. If I recall correctly, the press had a list price exceeding $1000: precision work costs! Right now, I can't conveniently access my back issues of HL and GD, so my fallible memory is all I can offer.

I have read that article, too. I don't recall that it had anything amounting to operating and maintenance instructions, just the usual gunzine review and puff piece. Must have been a heckofa machine to demand that price that long ago. But then it didn't. They did not stay on the market long.

Thanks guys. It appears to be in good condition, just been in a warehouse for about 20 years. I was just wondering if anyone else used one. I will check the back issues of both magazines.

See Handloader's Digest, Tenth Edition, pages 159-161, for the C. Rodney James article, "The RDP Loader."

To Jayjdb. Do you have the automatic bullet collators that feed bullets to the loader or do you just have the tubes?

Jayjdb:

I would like to have a copy of the manual. If you can email me an electronic copy, my email is posted in my forum profile. If it is a hard copy, please email me and let me know if I can compensate you for shipping costs.

To Jayjdb. I know someone who is looking for a small bullet collator ring for the RDP bullet collator. I was wondering if you might have a spare from your conversions since you have two machines and would you be interested in selling a spare if you have one? This person has a spare large ring that he could offer if you were interested in one of those.

He's looking for one to own. He has 1 small and two larges. The one large is a spare and he doesn't need it. If you needed a large to do some other calibers he would trade it for a small. He knows he could have one made but it would be expensive so he was just hopping someone had one from a conversion that they did not need. Thanks for the info.

Possibly ,I'll have to ask him. I'll get back to you. I should have a way to send you a pm if you can provide an e-mail address to take this off line.
