1. I lucked out on that one fifteen years ago. My enabler had a used one brought in from a deceased former customer. A Lyman 450 for fifteen bucks!

2. Just back away from the scale after you get your powder measure calibrated ....... IT REALLY WILL GO BANG if it's not weighted!

Maybe we need a "scales anon" group?

Three44s,
A bench heh? Well...that would make reloading easier! You better get to building or you'll be buying ammo at HIGH prices!

I was given an old RCBS Lub-A-Matic two years ago. The former owner said it was worn out and not worth his time or money to rebuild. A call to RCBS attempting to purchase the needed parts resulted in an overhaul kit being sent to me for free. And yes, I considered it well worth my time to rebuild it.

Von,

Oh no, I have been reloading for 32 years already WITHOUT a bench ......

I use a portable stand that I built way back then and it's still in use.

walnutred,

It's all about being in the right place at the right time.

And for that matter ..... the more people know you are a reloader and better yet .... a long time loader ...... and folks think of you when they are ready to TOSS goodies!

Age does have it's advantages ........

...... but it does have OTHER DISADVANTAGES too!

(Like knowing you'd be DEAD MEAT if ya every caught up with Smitty's Christmas Wish .....)

Regards

VonFatman,

With a setup like that you should be writting Handloader Magazine instead of reading it!!!

P.S. I'm asking (begging) for a Charge Master 1500.

K Squared,
Welcome!! Actually, my set up is fairly fresh. Many here have reloaded for 30+ years. I started in 2002...five years ago. I have invested in my bench and press but have not near the experience to even suggest that I'm worthy to clean the brass for most who contribute to this Forum. Thanks for the kind words.

Bob

My Christmas gift list is long enough to require its own thread and a $1,000 plus dollar shopping spree.

Merry Christmas to all and I hope you all get your Christmas wishes granted, I don't hold out much hope for mine this year( I guess I just didn't behave).

All I want is a S&W Model 3 Russian in .44 Russian so I can justify a new set of dies. One of the Navy Arms reproductions would do just fine.

I've been REALLY good this year Roll Eyes so maybe Santa will bring me that RCBS Trim-Mate I've been dropping hints about for three months. Every time I got a new catalog this year, I'd cut out the picture of it and "accidently" drop it into a letter. If my family doesn't get me one, I'm getting them all white canes for Christmas!
