I picked up a victory model today and it has problems. The cylinder fails to lock up on one chamber, I noticed the extractor has one pretty bad notch that is causing that issue. I figure a hand and an extractor replacment will cure that problem. Here is the big issue though, I opened the cylinder and it slid past the frame opening as far as the extractor usually goes. Looking at the frame-- the metal is worn down a little at the back of the frame where it usually stops this from happening. I noticed the cylinder rocks a little bit on the yoke.
My question is -- should I get an extractor rod collar and try to get the rocking motion out of it? I don't think it would have to be beefed up on the "stop" but if I had to I could give it to my gunsmith. Oh yea, is the hand and other parts the same as the model 10? |

I do not believe all the parts are interchangeable with a non-mim Model 10.
Specific parts for a Victory model might be in short supply and expensive. If there are safety issues involved, your gunsmith may refuse to work on it. In short; you may have a parts gun, paperweight, or wall hanger. |

Update:
Just got back from the range and gunsmith. I threw a hand, trigger stop, bolt (for the heck of it), extractor, rod collar, and a trigger rebound spring it the Victory. Cost me 70 dollars for the parts and about 45 minutes of time. OH YEA!! The Victory if nice, It shoots about 3 inches to the right at 25 yards. put 50 rounds through the gun. The yoke has just a bit of play and I need a lanyard swivel for it but I believe the gun will give me plenty of fun with my reloads(they're light) Anyway another Smith joins the family. |
