My M28 has a nice light DA pull....too light as I get alot of light primer strikes. I'm fairly certain the former owner had a trigger job done. How is this fixed? Can a revolver newbie fix this or is it a major repair?
thanks, Dan

If that checks out (the screw), look and see if they have installed a reduced power Wolff mainspring. That usually also results in the symptoms you've described - light pull and FTF.

If the screw is tight, also take it out and look at the end and see if they filed on it. If so, replace it (few dollars - call S&W or Numrich's).

Update....
The screw arrived...I had to get a nickel one as that's all anyone has anymore (my gun is blued). The old one was filed down more than a 1/4" when comparing old to new. Shot the gun today and all is well!

No blue screws? How odd...

Well, at least you are back up and running.

If the nickel bugs you, you can etch it off with some acid I think, then apply some cold blue to it. A few applications and it would match perfectly.
