I bought a Model 57-6 that was in pieces--I have put most of it together but the hand torsion spring is getting the better of me. This revolver has the internal lock and it is different than the other models that I have. The trigger does not have the pins like the older models I have worked with. I have ordered another spring because I waded the old one up trying to get it in. I could use anyones input on how it goes, how to get it in, etc. I was tring to slip the spring into the trigger and putting the hand's pivot pin (large pin) to go through the trigger---through the spring--- then through the other side of the trigger. I tried to put the short end of the spring against the trigger (rear) and tried to hook the small pin on the hand with the longer end of the spring. Is all of this making sense? All I managed to do is the bend up the spring and when I did get it in place, the hand locked up.

Please help me. I bought the gun in pieces for $100 bucks and spent $165 on parts the guy lost or dremmeled to death. Thanks ahead of time fo any suggestions. Big Jim

Thanks Rich W

Thamks for the link, That is like the older design. The Trigger in my mountain gun does not have pins going through the trigger like the one shown. I think S&W has, or is dropping the interal lock and the "new trigger" design--at least I hope so. I will take a pic of my trigger and post tomorrow morning.

That would be "Thanks" for the link.

Sometimes I think my fat fingers have a mind of their own.

This is the trigger in question. I think I can see the tip of the spring in the hole off to the the right. How does that little spring go in there to put tension on the hand?

Even further down on the linked to page is a photo of the MIM trigger and spring, so labeled.
