Anyone got any ideas on it? I know it can be done, shot several that were very nice. Wanted to lighten the trigger specifically and remove some of that take up.

If you're talking about one of the new M&Ps, then look into Burwell Gunsmithing. I'm not sure if that's the correct spelling. They had their own section on the M&P forum, but last I heard that forum doesn't exist any longer.

Here's the link:

Burwell Gunsmithing

I know they were highly recommended by many guys on the M&P forum, and they are M&P Specialists.

I did download their PDF version of the trigger job, and it seemed pretty sound. Im not so sure about the whole taking a file to it, I've never used more than a medium stone to start, but perhaps I'll "improvise, adapt, and overcome."

I took Burwell's pdf to my gunsmith and he went a step further and not only lightened the trigger, but shortened it. Cost me $80 but well worth it. I don't purport to understand what he did, but it's fantastic. He's in Oklahoma and fighting cancer . . . But if you would like to call him, I'm sure he would tell you what he did. Send me a pm and I'll give you his number.

Not sure if I misunderstood, but the M&P Forum definitely still exists - I just checked it out. Here's the address: http://mp-pistol.com/boards/.

Also, mtb1bkr, I see that you are with 2/8. I was with 2/6 and we swapped colors with 2/8 and moved to Geiger from Mainside. That was late '86 or early '87. I was with Golf Co. as an 0311 and 41 from '85 until '89. Be safe.
