I got my hands on a 686-1, opened it up knowing that action work had been done. Its smooth trigger pull, with 9lb. pull, 3.4lb single action pull. I did the push off test, seems good. It appears they might have touched on the single action notch. I was wondering whats the chances of a new hammer going in without double action sear adjustment, I'm not comfortabe filing on that myself, should I send it in to S&W for the work?

"Most" hammers will drop in with little fitting, especially if you switch over the double action strut.

However, not ALL drop in without at least some fitting.

My advice, for a proper job and a good trigger, send it to S&W.

If there's no push-off, don't worry about it!

I have a used 342 Ti AirLite on the way with a MIM hollow trigger. Has anyone replaced the MIM trigger with a forged / case hardened trigger? What other parts are MIM and can these be replaced?
