Gents,

Is a factory worked bobbed hammer just a chimera or other myth, or did the mighty S&W Performance Center actually put a part number to such a magical beast?

In other words, who's got the part number, or a contact in the PC Shop so I can order a spare bobbed hammer?

Or are they just like gnomes, elves, honest politicians, and other figments of my imagination?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Matt

If it did ever exist, and I have never seen one that could be identified as such, S&W customer service should be able to answer the question if you call them. The number is 800-331-0852. If here was, and they don't have any, they should be able to give a part number for it, for whatever good that would be.

They are listed on the S&W website, but I don't know if they actually exist:

190510000 BOBBED HAMMER, BLUE $47.99
039180000 HAMMER ASSY,BL .240 BOBBED LS-GB $48.41

Gunparts corp lists them too, but they are currently sold out: Bobs yer hammer

Up until a year or two ago, Brownells had a bunch. I bought and installed six or seven myself, mostly on my own guns. (My 15-3 with bobbed hammer and Spegel Boot grips looks especially cool, as does my 10-5.) Brownells is out, though, last I checked. I fear they have gone the way of all forged internal parts and the Giant Sloth...

They did exist they were made for DAO police guns, not the performance center. The guy selling them on gunbroker is great to deal with. I just purchased one from him 2 weeks ago. They are for blue K-Frames. They are case colored.
