What ammo/weight are you using?
What kind of hold are you using? Center? Six O'Clock? How far up have you run the rear sight? |

1) If not already done, order the "tall" rear sight blade and install it. 2) Are you shooting magnums or 44 specials? magnum rounds hit higher because of muzzle rise due to recoil. 3) As last resort, you can shave the top of your front sight blade a touch. This place shows all the rear sight blades: http://www.e-gunparts.com/productschem.asp?chrMasterModel=1980z29-3 17 308800 Rear Sight Slide, .126 17 319930 Rear Sight Slide, .126, White Outline 17 312940 Rear Sight Slide, .146 17 320040 Rear Sight Slide, .146, White Outline 17 319880 Rear Sight Slide, .160 17 319990 Rear Sight Slide, .160, White Outline 17 317470 Rear Sight Slide, .222, For 10-5/8'' Barrels |

pownal55 ,Screw the sight all the way down ,then 1 1/2 full rotation up and try the target single action at 25 yards and see where they print.

There is also a .196 rear blade (NOT available with WO). I installed a .160 on my integral front sight 629. |

You also could be anticipating recoil and pulling down with your trigger-finger. Have a friend load it with random empty cylinders, don't look and fire it from the bench. After each pull, look at where the barrel is pointed. My oldest son did that with my SBH.

The longer barrels are generally designed for longer range shooting and the Factory does Sight them in that way. I would check to see just what rear sight blade you have in your gun - especially if you have it loosened all the way - which is up. This isn't a good position to be starting with. Next if you can provide a picture of what "type" of Sight Picture you are using it would also be helpful. Different people see "Iron Sights" differently.
I once knew an 'long time shooter' who was always shooting high when he fired guns. It seems he had been "Taught" to raise just enough of the front sight blade up to be level with the 'bottom' of the notch in the rear sight blade. It worked for him but it also took him quite a bit of time "getting" his sight picture. He also shot a "Peep" sight by just raising the front blade up just enough to see it through the hold in the peep. It work OKay if he was using a Bead Sight either on his rifles or hand guns because he would raise the sight up enough to see the whole Bead and that was much quicker than "trying" to find just the top edge of a Patridge Blade. Let me know how it works out. KKG - Again!!! Texan - 1st, Last and Always!!! When you test fire for the groups, is the gun on a rest or just hand held? With my new model 327TRR it shoots exact on at 25 yards and can put all 8 shots in one big hole with the gun very study on a rest. If I am holding it however, it will shoot low due to the way I am pulling the trigger and the artheritis in my arm and wrist joints. So to compensate I have a laser grips aimed low and that compensated to bring the shots up free hand to match the bench rest accuracy.
