Hello, Just have a ? about a 27-2 that is hard to cock hammer or pull the trigger on one cyl. It doesnt happen all the time and runs fine with a "fast" dry fire, just wondering what you guys think? Thanks,gunnut44
It sounds like one tooth on your extractor ratchet might have a small ding or burr causing the hand to bind on that chamber. Look at it closely with a magnifying glass to see if the one that binds looks slightly different. If that's the problem it's easily fixed with a fine file or stone. Just enough to remove the burr (if there is one).

I have a M-28 with a very tight cylinder gap. It binds a bit on one or two chambers and gets worse the more the gun is shot and gets dirty. Something the seller neglected to mention when I bought the gun on the internet.

Thanks 44Deerslayer, I will take a look at it, as soon as I can find the magnifying glass, sounds like a logical problem, it locks up tight and is in like new condition with very few rounds through it thats why I was stumped as to what might be wrong, I will take the side plate off if need be and see if I can see anything out of the norm. Thanks again!
Ok, this is what I noticed, I checked for the burs as mentioned above, there is a small one but not on the cyl I am having trouble with. I opened the cyl. and held the release back and cycled the gun, works perfect, no hangups. When I hold the gun up to the light with the cyl closed I can see light but as I cycle the gun on the cyl before the problem one the barrel-cylinder gap really gets close or possibly touches just on the top? Thanks for help.
Inspect the barrel breech for rub marks where it may have contacted the cylinder. Try using a bronze wire brush to clean off lead or powder fouling deposits on cylinder face and barrel breech. Barrel-cylinder gap should be a nominal 0.005" to 0.007" thousandths. If it actually contacts, check for excessive cylinder end shake (more than 0.005". If endshake is within limits, but barrel stub contacts cylinder, it will need to be opened up carefully using a fine cut safe edge mill file.

Is it possible to change the cylinder out from one of my other 27's to see if it makes a difference? Are the cylinders interchangeable or are they fitted per gun?
