Need a spare, any chance of getting one, without the pistol going back to the factory?

If you mean the coil spring that fits on the so called cam retainer clip and is visible in the groove when the hammer is removed, per the S&W parts manual it is the same part number as the locking bolt spring. It is available and the P/N is 107080000. Cost is listed as 51 cents.

The flag spring is listed as not available other than by factory installation.

Thanks much, I will order a new parts catalog with the spring, my old S&W catalog dates from the 1980's.
