I'd like to have a CQB, but the 4566 and 4563s I have now are very slick guns. So, I'd like to sort of duplicate the appearance of the CQB. The front serrations are the problem. Does anyone know of someone (will S&W do it?) that will DUPLICATE the rear serrations on front, like the real CQB? After that, I'd have it Dura-Coated or whatever, maybe add one of the fancy hammers if I could get one. I'm afraid I'd send the gun to someone who would get CLOSE with the serrations, and I don't want close for obvious reasons.

I'd try Robar. I've seen some glocks they added front serrations to that looked factory.

Jhp147 - Are you going to have the Briley bushing installed as well? Regards 18DAI.

No, hadn't even thought of the "important" things, just cosmetics. Hammer, finish, serrations...
It shoots better than I do now, anyway.

I recall on the old PC flyer on services was front serrations, so I bet PC will do them.

What special hammer are you talkin about?

My CQB has the same MIM hammer as the TSW and 4506. In fact when I had a 4506-1, I sent it to PC for a duty type action job, stressing the word SMOOOOOTH. That action job was better than my CQB factory job. My buddy has that 4506 and will not part with it. I should have swapped actions before I sold it to him as he does not know the difference, he just wanted to have a 45 from on the big makers, like SW, Sig, Glock, SA, etc.

good luck on your project. I want to see pics of work in progress. My CQB is asleep in a shadow box in my office. I'll take a pic of it for some inspiration tomorrow.

Thanks for the input, guess I should have taken a look at your avatar to make sure, but I was thinking the CQB had a dark hammer with a hole in it, similar to the hammer on the DK edition 1911.
Checking S/W is on my list...Robar would be next, but the last time I dealt with them, it was a lengthy and expensive process.
Yep=if you don't have a pic up round here now, I'd like a better look...you may know something about the 4566 I'm thinking of using...

I did not get to snap a photo today, but will do my best tomorrow.

I noticed a briley bushing mentioned

and correct me if I am wrong and assuming you have TSW for the 4563, isnt the barrel muzzle belled (not straight).

the briley bushing would not work on a factory barrel, it would have to be a bar sto or PC barrel, again recalling a TSW to have a belled barrel.

how bout some before pics and keep em coming as work in progress.

If I get the money and get started doing it, I will snap a shot or two, but all I was really wanting was the matching serrations and dark colored slide...unless I find something else I can do. It has no rail-holes filled with rivets. I would not even consider thinking of going to the expense of the Briley bushing. The TSW still has the MMC rear sights on it that were on it when you sent it, I'll probably start by putting back on the factory sights.
