Im trying to find out more info on this new to me revolver. Is there a book I could get that would have a take down diagram for it? Also I have two issues and I am not sure where to start. The first is when you cock the pistol, the cylinder does not always complete the cycle, maybe 1/8" off. Is this timing? Second, the firing pin does not retract by it self. You can push it back in with little or no resistance. Thank you for your help, and please be patient with me, I am new to this but want to get it right.

Takedown and disassembly should be the same as for other pre-WWII I, K, and N frame revolvers. See the "stickies" for previous disassembly instructions here.
Your description of the cylinder not completing the cycle is called "failure to carry up", and is caused by wear on the cylinder ratchet, the hand, or both. On older revolvers, this usually is accompanied by excessive cylinder endshake, which makes the FTCU more noticeable. Your frame-mounted firing pin shouldbe spring loaded. It it does not have any spring action and retract into the frame on it's own, the spring may be corroded or broken. |

John,
Thank you for the reply. Are parts available still for guns of this age? It looks like you have to remove a pin, that holds the firing pin into the frame? I have had the side plate off and everything is cleaned but lots of oil. ________________________________________ Why don't you run away and find yourself a life. |
