The firing pin on my friends 17-6 protrudes only .020 beyond blast shield. Specs are .030.
The spring seems to function properly, and I am attempting to remove for cleaning. The gun is rather used and was very dirty internally. I am hoping for grime and dirt as the problem. The pin below the rear sight blade has been removed and the firing pin will not come out. Is this the correct procedure? Any tricks or suggestions. I have Kuhnhausen's revolver shop manual and could find no help. Is it so simple that it escapes me. Feeling stupid and in need of advice, Fred ineedannudernewgun NRA LIFE MEMBER |

Never mind.
Just found a picture of a firing pin and the light bulb began to burn (still dim). I just finished removing. It drives out forward thru the blast shield. Fred ineedannudernewgun NRA LIFE MEMBER |
