G'day
I need to change the front sight cam in my 686. The front sites are secured by two different size pins. I would like to order the correct size cup head pin punches. Can anyone help with the diameter of the pins / punches. Thanks in advance. cheers ayjay This message has been edited. Last edited by: ayjay, |

Someone here used a nail set. They are cupped and come in different sizes. Cheaper to.They said they worked well. Just my 2 cents.

I've found it fairly easy to make my own. Take a 1/16" pin punch, chuck it up in a drill press, and turn the last 1/2" down to the diameter you need with a file. Then use a Dremel with a round dental bit to put a concave surface on the end. It takes about 5 minutes, and it costs a lot less than buying the cupped punches from Brownell's.
