Mike: It's YOUR Forum; YOUR Website and YOUR rules. YOU set the tone, content and who is able to access it and use it. It's a great site and a very valuable tool to those of us who collect and shoot the Smith & Wesson line of firearms and accessories. Hang in there and don't be swayed by the whining and complaining of a couple of malcontents. Send me your mailing address off-site and I'll send you a check for site maintenance and bandwidth.

Good grief it is a free site! No one has a right to come and make demands. If one method doesn't work try another, if it is that important! I appreciate the opportunity to be a member. Great site and some great folks here.

Just my .02 cents!

Yes this is a great site, and I think the moderator realized what the guy had said was merely out of assuming, which we all can do.
I saw no attitude in his remark, and don't see where anyone else sees this. I have felt this group of people to be as family, and I have met many great friends here.
It is very easy to misunderstand or misinterpret
what someone is trying to say or how they are saying it. The guy is right in the sense that we need to be a strong group, with all that is coming our way, not to squable.
He was given a break by the big guy, and I think well enough should be left alone.

I guess I just learned that this site is ran and all bills paid by one person - Para. Maybe everyone else knew it but I didn't! For whatever reason (name perhaps) I assumed that this forum is sponcored by S&W Inc. Funny!

First of, thank you so much, Para! This is great site indeed! Do you accept contributions? I'd be very glad to pitch in if I could.

Mike

Threads like this remind me how much BS Parabellum deals with, and no other reward than the satisfaction of running such a superb forum.

Yes, this is a real great forum and I (from Switzerland) enjoy to visit it several times each day. Clear rules are ensuring a high degree of forum quality and discipline and in particular the knowledge of forum members is very, very pleasing.

Parabellum is a lot nicer than I would be.

How about a Membership listing... with the persons screen name... city, state... etc....

Would be helpful in many ways to know who is in the general area so that possible meets can be made...

Thanks

There already is a members listing. Go to the top of a forum and click on "GO" and then click on "MEMBER DIRECTORY".

Although there IS a membership list, it is difficult to find a particular individual since there are 340 pages of listings. Unless I've just missed it, there is no way to sort or search the pages. The only way that I've found is just to randomly open a page and then guess which direction and how many pages to move in an attempt to find someone. That often takes a lot of time so I rarely do it.

If you know who you are looking for (for instance to send them a private email) I often just go to one of the rooms that I know they frequent and search for their name. That doesn't give you info on who might be in your area as you were wondering. Much of that info isn't in the membership list since many folks are sensitive about releasing that.

I don't know if the site has the ability to allow specific searches of the membership data base or not, but if it is possible, I believe that would be a good benefit.
