Just picked up a box at a swap meet, S&W blue box, 9mm 115 grain JHP. Full box. Not planning to shoot it though, thought it would be a nice accessory for S&W gun photos. Gave $20 for the box. I'm pleased!

Funny, I recently posted a question about S&W branded ammo on the Ruger Forum. I got some old .44M reloads with a mix of brass, among which was S&W. The conclusion was that the S&W ammo came and went in the '70s, which makes my "once-fired" stuff pretty old!

I think your time frame is about right - the latest would be the early 80's! |

I remember seeing S&W ammo on some sort of closeout sale in the very early 80's. I was a fan of Nyclad ammo so I bought a couple cases. I still have a little bit left.

Now THAT'S a good use of the S&W branded ammo in photos!

saw the date on this thread but thought I'd chime in anyway... they did good ammo for the price. I shot a lot of the 38, 357 and 9. the 357 in 110 hp were hot, the 158's were good, they took a while to hit the magic 125. the 9 came in 115 and 90. still have some stash in the 90. hard to feed in a bhp. the nyclad were sleepers. still have some in 38. they're in 125 but I liked the 158's... but I like them. some said there were made by some other company, corporate thing but never knew who???

I think Federal ended up taking over the NYCLAD rounds.
