it sounds like a good load for my model 38. Have there been any actual shootings with it that anyone is aware of? I know that historicaly this load has been used as an LE round. I am just wondering if the BB has been used.

Hi there RDak. I just found these people and read their stuff and as a supporter of the FBI load for the .38 Special, I was hooked. I'm hearing and reading only good stuff about them so it's my comfort zone. Do us all a big favor... if you shoot some off to feel it out, come on back in and give us your take. Smiler

I haven't heard of any shootings with it yet but I'm sure the BB management would be the first people to know. I'm still waiting for them to drop in here with any info they might have.

I shot a few of the BB 158 gr. standard pressure loads the other day in my model 36. Absolutely dead on with the factory sights, and absolutely the same as with some 158gr H.S.M. bulk reloads I've been shooting (at about ten yards). Sharp little kick, but not much, if any, more than with the regular ammo.

Love that gun, would love it more with a Hogue rubber monogrip. I'm pretty sure they have one in that size. They've got a couple of links, http://www.hogueinc.com and http://www.getgrip.com

Let's know if you go that way. Smiler

I don't really like Hogue grips. They push my hand too far down on the gun. I'm about to order a pair of Eagle Secret Service "boot style" grips.

I could put a Pachmayr wraparound grip on it. That's one of the most comfortable and natural grips I've ever held. But, not exactly something you can put on a pocket pistol!

I guess you can put it that way, they push your hand down some. But I've always looked at it in another way, they make my gun sit up further in my hand and the gun seems to point better. But we all like different things and viva la difference! Smiler
