Has anyone tried this? Labeled HSM in an orange box. They are doing the bulk 500 Mag ammunition for Cabelas as well as some other cartrides apparently.

Per their web ste they are a major police ammunition supplier as well as loading for the wholesale and retail markets.

I've used their ammo several times with great results. I've never had a problem. I think you'll be pleased.

The PD I retired from has used it for years for range practice. I never had any problems with it.

I have shot 10,000+ rds thru everything from HK's to S&W's, very good stuff, used 380, 38, 357, 9mm,44mag,45acp 223 etc etc

I get it at the gun show for the most part, in 500rd cans or cardboard boxes

We've had nothing but problems with the .223; seperated cases, shells with no primers, bullets keyholing.

I have had very good luck with their .38 Special 158gr LSWC though. Very accurate.

We have several guns blow with their .40 S&W ammo. They replaced about a thousand rounds, as they had a bad batch of ammo that was sent to MO, they thought from some used brass they bought. We had a Sig blow a couple of weks ago. Gun was an individual's personal firearm and he sent it back to Sig. It is now in the mail back. Cost about $130 to fix plus expensive transportation costs. A couple we had were total case head separation in Glock 35's. All the .40 ammo we buy is reloaded. We can repair several gusn for the difference in price compared to new ammunition in the quantities we shoot. Might not be so cost effective for an individual.

Their stuff appears to be good in everything but .223 and .40S&W. Isuspect that a lot of this is due to reduced QC on the line due to heavy LE purchases of both calibers.

I shoot their 45 and 10mm and have been for years. It's great range ammo and I have never had a misfire or misfeed. Fairly accurate also.

I shoot it mainly in 45ACP , 10MM , 9MM and 40S&W , never had any problem but be aware there is another look alike brand out there called HTS . THe boxes look identical to HSM's but its mostly crap . I bought one box of 45ACP and after shooting it all I looked like someone had dumped a pepper shaker on me . I kept getting sprayed in the face with all the unburnt powder .

I used to buy HSM ammo at the "Crossroads of the West" gunshow here in SLC. The last time I went to buy HSM, the display said HST. I asked one of the salesmen what happened to HSM, and she said that the name had been changed. I asked her if they were still located in Montana. She said, "well, not exactly". I think it's a pretty under-handed way of doing business. I still haven't found out the connection between HSM and HST ammo companies.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
