I just found that Graf & Son has Federal American Eagle 327 magnum ammo available and in stock per their web site. I have ordered 100 rounds.

This is by far the least expensive factory ammo currently available for this caliber and availability has been poor. Midway is back ordered on it and does not expect it until the end of July apparently. Local gun shops I have checked do not have it either.

Supply of factory ammo is tight. Those that want to shoot any volume will have to reload.

Supply of brass for the 327 Magnum is nonexistent so far as I have been able to find. No one is offering it yet.

Also Hodgdon seems to be the only published source of reloading data so far.

Shot some of the Federal AE stuff through one of the little Rugers yesterday at the indoor range. Holy Cow! I think the muzzle blast and noise are worse than one of my 3" 9x23s. Not much recoil, though, and seemed to be quite accurate. May just have to have one of these...

Hopefully the .327 magnum won't end up with the same fate as the 9mm Federal (rimmed) revolver load of the recent past...

Already beats the 9mm federal on one count. Four manufacturers are making revolvers for it. I do not believe anyone but Charter ever chambered a revolver for the 9mm Federal.

Ruger, Charter, Taurus and Freedom Arms are all offering revolvers chambered for it per items I have read.

My rechambered 16-4 cylinder is supposed to be back from Bowen Classic Arms tomorrow so I will have a S&W chambered for it too.

Only time will tell if it succeeds.

It's a good concept so I for one hope it does.

Maybe my math ain't so good, but I ran the 327 MAG from three inch barrel through a recoil formula and it came in with less than 135 grain Gold Dot .38 Specials from a two inch barrel. If that is indeed the case, this new round could gain a toehold. The hangup seems to be ammo availability. Cabelas has got the gun.
