I was loading a gun last night with Speer Gold Dot ammo, and noticed that the cases fit the chambers a litle tighter than do other ammo brands. Seen this off and on for years.
Has anyone else experienced this? I think maybe they need new machinery to size the cases a trifle smaller. ?? T-Star "There is nothing quite so exhilarating as to be shot at without effect." Sir Winston Churchill, KG |

Could be though it could also be that they choose to make their ammo closer to the SAAMI maximum allowed case dimensions. This would decrease working of the brass on firing.
So long as the cartridge dimensions are within SAAMI limits there should not be a problem as it should fit any SAAMI minimum dimension chamber. If over SAAMI dimensional limits then I am confident you would see comments on the web about it not fitting some guns chambers. |
