Howdy:

I read in the forum here in the last few days (and can NOT find in search function) the name of a
custom moon clip maker that has stiffer metal than the usual ones.

I thought I saved the link and name, but ...nooOOOOOoooo....

It was carried by Brownells I thought...but nnoooOOOOooooo....

can't find 'em there either.

Looking for some stiff metal full moon clips for 625-8; 610; and 627 8 holer.

Ranch Products used to make some stainless steel full moon clips that were definitely stiffer, to the point where it's difficult to load the rounds into the clips by hand. You might give them a call. See here:

Did Cylinder & Slide sell them?

Midway, Brownell's, Dillon Precision, have them. Don't know if they are extra heavy duty or not. Frank

Maybe TK Customs? Theirs are supposed to be heavier than Smith's factory stuff (at least for the 940).

thanks for the tips....I don't recognize any of these names. Don't know how I could have lost such a recent link either.

I believe Ranch Products is the manufacturer of most moon clips, regardless of who sells them. They have been the major supplier for S&W as well.

There used to be an outfit that made a Rimz brand plastic moon clip. They would certainly not be stiffer than the metal, I just thought I would throw this out for general info.

Wilson COmbat sells plain carbon steel as well as carbon steel w/Nickel wash full moon
clips. One of the half moon clips I got from
S&W with the 625 broke. I have yet to have any of my Wilson Combat Full Moon clips bend -
most have the nickel wash, figured it would be
a little more corrosion resistant.

I'll bet that if you contacted a top notch revolver smith they could tell you.
