So a neighbor of mine got a deal on some ammo and we horse traded a little. I've never heard of the company before and my searching has not turned up much. Anyone know anything about this ammo or the company?

Looks like they are out of Coeur D'Alene. I've never seen these shells before. .38sp 158gr lead SWC "composite case with patented PRB and thermocrimp". Looks like #H3803 is the part number.

Has anyone shot any of this stuff? I figured 250rnds for a new J frame rubber boot grip was a steal and my neighbor who has been using the grip and a holster I gave him seemed happy . . . so here I am. Anyone have the scoop on this ammo?

I believe that Amtech became Natec, best known for their plastic cased .223 ammuntion. I'm not familiar with their handgun ammunition, but their .223 enjoys a very mixed repuation, with some lots (and colored casings) apparently being fine and some being troublesome. They supposedly had a contract from the Navy for a time - with the money going towards development costs with a view towards making light ammunition, but I'm not sure whatever came of it.

Only had time to shoot a few cylinders the other day. Out of a 640-1 had one bullet pull forward and lock up the gun. Seemed accurate enough although a little tight fitting in the chambers. Cheap range ammo, but I won't be buying any.
