Federal makes a 140 grain .357 loaded with a Barnes Expander. I think this is the same type Corbon uses for its DPX product although Corbon uses a 125 grain.

Federal calls its load a hunting load. If it is really loaded with an X-bullet shouldn't this be a good self defense round too. What do you think?

If Federal is marketing it as a hunting load, it was probably designed/loaded with a certain "envelope" in terms of penetration vs. expansion with a mind towards taking medium game animals. That probably means a greater risk of over penetration, but if you like deep penetration then it could certainly be a choice.
