Anyone else ever try these? Consist of a drill bit and fixture allowing either 3/32 or 1/16 hole in reg 22 ammo. I have both sizes and seem to remember a larger version made for a 38 special but it was made by someone else. They do work and in era of higher prices wonder if they will be coming back?

Personally, drilling on any live ammo is not someting I want to do, regardless of the cost savings. Big, heavy slugs at moderate velocities will get the job done, with or without hollow points.

Big bang, much smash'em.

I wouldn't do any drilling on any ammo either...

However shaving a bullet with a knife doesn't but any undue strain on the rim.

That said, I remember a little gizmo that had a great write up in the American Rifleman over 10-15 years ago-

It looked something like a case gauge that allowed the bullet of a .22LR round to protrude just a bit, and the end could be shaved off with a good quality knife. In essence, it turned your .22 round into a wadcutter flat point.

That is what CCI's SGB bullet does today...but they are much more expensive!

I have no idea what the name of the company was, but I always wanted one of the little gizmos!

Lets help me get this - don't like the idea of drilling the tip - hit it with a mallet instead! LoL I think I'll order the Paco tool just to see what the "Nastinose" bullets can do.
