Great question, and a road that I've been down. The bullet is a Sierra JHP. Unfortunately it's the lightest JHP that I have found in a caliber which is IMO afflicted with bullets that are too heavy for self defense. It's also an accurate bullet. I do handload that bullet, but I pull them first. That's the same bullet that is used in the Corbon .44 mag. JHP load as well. I don't recall if I asked Corbon if they would sell me some, but Sierra said that they would not, and that it is not available as a reloading component. I'll call Corbon in the next few days and see if they'll sell me some. IIRC they won't. As far as reloading data goes, I use 180 gr. data. I'm thinking that I can get over 1000 fpe from my 629-1 using this bullet.
Don't carry a gun because of what may happen today. Carry because once, just once, and at the least likely time imaginable, you may run into the worst monster you ever could imagine. Be their worst nightmare and resist them with all the stubbornness that our pioneer ancestors posessed. To do less is to be unamerican.
