I am gaing to use these for PD. These will be hot ball ammunition specifically to be used in european manufactured handguns (autoloaders.)

Any offered opinions?

I've chrono'd both - S&B was hotter for me.

Shot-placement is king. Adequate penetration is queen. Everything else is angels dancing on the heads of pins.

Also remember faster isn't necessarily higher pressure.

Don't carry a gun because of what may happen today. Carry because once, just once, and at the least likely time imaginable, you may run into the worst monster you ever could imagine. Be their worst nightmare and resist them with all the stubbornness that our pioneer ancestors posessed. To do less is to be unamerican.

This is why I trust your analysis, Erich. The fastest, deepest penetrating and most accurate .32 FMJ loadings are going to help me the most when it comes to "winning the gunfight." This doesn't mean that I want to get into a gunfight, I simply want to walk away a victor if I must shoot someone.

Thanks, Erich.

Fiochi ammo used to run hot back in the 90s, some loadings seem more sedate these days.

I used to run Magtech, of all things, in my Keltec P32. It was cheap locally and never caused any problems.

I just chrono'd some MagTech this weekend, and found it to run 80-odd fps slower (with a lighter bullet even) than S&B from my Astra 300. Different guns do different things, though. MagTech has always been utterly reliable for me as well. Smiler

I've used both and don't think you can go wrong with either one. Never had any problems with either.

I used to carry a Silvertip up the tube and Fiocchi FMJ in the magazine of my PPK. This is what I am carring in my CZ50 now and I'm not worried about the outcome in a SD encounter.

Both S&B and Fiocchi are the hottest .32 auto ammo around. Both also use a 73gr FMJ bullet instead of the 71gr bullet most American manufacturers use.

Either will serve you well. I usually but Fiocchi because they are available and cheaper than the S&B ammo although Cabela's has/had a sale in S&B last week.

Gunfan, I use Hornady 73grain XTPs in my CZ70. They do 1050fps out of it.

S&B and Fiocchi .32 ACP ammo were the only brands that would run my Kel-Tec to about 90% reliability.

Everything else was a "50/50" proposition.

If you can find it, GECO 32 was the hottest round that I ever found. Unfortunately, my stash was depleted years ago.

The best web resource on 32 ballistics that I have seen is the following: http://www.goldenloki.com/ammo/gel/32acp/gel32acp.htm

Both GECO and S&B ball ran over 900 fps from the Kel-Tec P32.

Reeds Ammunition has three SD loads for the 32 ACP listed. All are HPs but two of them are with Hornady XTPs which are known for penetration rather than expansion.

According to that chart the best HP ammo to carry is the Federal followed by the Fiocchi and Speer rounds.

As for FMJ rounds I like the 73gr Fiocchi rounds.

Be aware, Fiocchi ammo is loaded to the European CIP specs not American SAAMI specs which would explain why Fiocchi ammo is hotter than anything made by America companies.
