I'd like to thank Nframe for testing the sub-machine gun ammo is his Ruger Blackhawk w/4& 5/8" barrel. Distance was 10 feet from the chrono. Although the old Winchester box did not give the bullet weight, Chris thinks it is 115 gr based on total weight of unfired rounds compared to known 115 gr and 124 gr unfired rounds of other brands.

The six rounds of smg ammo averaged 1240 fps for Chris, which I believe puts it into the general category of +P+. I had earlier with a differnt chronograph and different gun tested some Winchester marked +P+ 115 gr at 1263 fps and Federal marked +P+ 115 gr at 1212 fps, so it would seem to fit between those two.

Thanks again Chris! Smiler

Thanks for the data, Stiab. As I am sure you know, +P+ relates to pressure; not speed. Depending on the type of powder it could be regular +P ammo. Speer 124 gr. 9mm +P load (#23617) clocked 1221 in my M&P9 (4-1/2" bbl). 115 gr. would probably go a bit faster.

Mike

Correct-o Mike, I should have said "+P+ results", that's what I meant. Thanks pointing that out. Smiler

Steve,
your welcome! Besides, it was fun to get some trigger time with the Ruger. Wink
