I bought one of the revolver mounts from Revolver_ph a while back. My apologies in the slow review.
To start, this mount is fantastic. The shape and form add beautiful lines to your revolver with a minimum footprint. The product is well packaged and has everything you need to set up.
Now, here is where the customer service takes off. I bought this for a 629-2 Classic Hunter. It was drilled and tapped but I doubted the work was factory. Revolver_ph was more than willing to help me. Way more than I expected at the price point of this mount. He even offered a return of it didn't fit.
After taking some measurements we both realized that the holes were very close to factory specs. Being that it could have been just my caliper measurements throwing the numbers off I called S&W. They confirmed that my revolver was factory drilled and tapped and was manufactured Sept 1989. They were very surprised that is was factory with the manufacter date.
Well, I bought the mount and it didn't fit. The holes lined up space wise, but the entire mount needed to shift forward.
Well, revolver_ph helped me once again. He gave me a couple different options for fixing it. Now, remember, this wasn't his problem. It wasn't his mount that was the issue. I think it was simply that my revolver was such an early factory drill/tap that it was different than most.
In the end, I filed the rear strap of the mount and it fits like a glove now. I could have sent it back to be bead blasted again, but I chose not to.
Thanks revolver_ph!!!
If you had any doubts in the product or service, I hope this review dispels them all.
