just delivered shark-trim holster for Korth .357 Magnum Mongoose. $249 Nighthawk holster made by Southern Trapper vs. $49 1791 holster. Really function about the same.

I stumbled across an online auction (Ward's Collectibles), which had a lot of firearms. Many were very pricey, way out of my range.
A few were not, and of that few, there were several I was interested in.
Sometime next week I will be signing to receive my new-to-me pair of Astra 400's, and an Astra A90 in 45acp that is still in the Interarms box. Even with the auction charging a 15% commission, 3% for credit card, $47 for insured shipping, and a total $55 for transfer of all three, I'm still sitting south of $250 per gun.
Here's some photos from the auction

Been looking for a Sig P220 in 9mm for awhile and got this on GB. American style mag release; made in 1995. Not as scarce as the 38 Super version but far less common than the 45ACP version.

Rebuilt my Ruger Charger with a custom wood stock from eBay, and a 2.5# trigger from Jard. I had the tall UTG bipod, and with the legs fully extended, the Tacticon red/green dot is up at eye level when seated at a bench. Very handy.

I picked up one of Colt 1911A-1 World War Two Repro’s that Colt sold about 20 years ago. It had a little wear, but came with the blue Custom Shop box and all the accessories. The later World War One repro’s are more popular, but this pistol was one I had to have.
Why did I have to buy it? The serial number on the pistol was the same as my platoon on Parris Island. As good a reason as any to buy yet another Colt .45 automatic.

not so shiny object
Freshly arrived from the Dakota Territory, a Colt's Model 1877 revolver. Chambered in .41 Long Colt, it was also known as the "Thunderer." Colt's first commercial double action revolver its lockwork was reputedly delicate. It was, nevertheless, carried by some notable Western figures. Billy the Kid was armed with one when he was shot by Pat Garret. John Wesley Hardin had one in his back pocket when Constable John Selman shot him in El Paso's Acme Saloon. Doc Holliday, reputedly, sported a nickel-plated, ivory gripped . 41 caliber Colt Thunderer.
This one is mechanically sound; bore and chambers are excellent. It looks both well traveled and well cared for. Colt's serial number lookup dates it to 1903. It pleases me.

These were all obtained the past few months. You could say a gun buying spree, sort of. It was to “reward” myself for relocating from Montana to Oklahoma.

Ruger Redhawk 4.2” 45 Colt/45 ACP

Scored a very rare Winchester 67 .22 Junior rifle with early grooved stock- these were only mfg’d in 1st year of production (1937) before going to the non-grooved stock which is much more common. Should have it early next week.

My Cetme had a black plastic stock on it. Got my wood stock set today. Also bought the correct bayonet lug and bayonet. I might refinish the wood this winter.

Old Army guy snags on old Navy rifle
Back when the US Army was chasing Indians around the plains with a single shot rifle, the trapdoor Springfield, the Navy was issuing the world's first detachable box magazine, repeating rifle, the Remington Lee. If the name Lee sounds familiar, it is the same James Paris Lee whose seminal bolt action magazine rifle later evolved to the various Long Lees, Lee Speeds, Lee Metfords and eventually the Lee Enfields that became the mainstay of the British Army from 1895 until 1957.
Newly acquired, this Model 1885 shares the same bayonet, sling, rear sight and the .45-70 cartridge as its Army counterpart already extant.

Finally got a birth year gun - a Colt 1911 from 1953. Not pristine, but a good shooter. 🙂

After a couple years looking for a Ronin 10mm, and seeing nothing other than a used one, by sheer dumb luck I stumbled on this one.
Popped up on my GB feed briefly then disappeared. Dealer was an hour away.
Came with 3 mags, not one, and the public safety price.
Love the two tone finish.

I don't know why I do it, over and over again. I get to the point of, "I have enough guns, I don't see anything out there that makes me want to buy it!". And that works for say, 6 to 9 months, and then it happens. The one tat got this latest buying spree going was when there were a bunch of LEO trade in Sig P229's on GB. Very nice, and sanely priced:
I thought that would be it, then this one showed up. I am a sucker for matte SS or nickel. This was advertised as SS, but it's not, it's NP3 or something similar, it's slippery and has been worked on. CZ never made a Pre B SS gun as far as I know. SA trigger is fantastic, DA is still heavy, but super smooth. Has a professionally looking added on trigger overtravel screw, and the slide fit beats my previous champ, my Mossad Tanfoglio TA88. I'm actually glad it's not SS, as I always wanted an NP3 or similar finished gun. Looks great for 38 years old:
Then I saw a deal on the Beretta APX A1 Carry. I bought it, put a red dot, Holosun 407K I already had on it, and I basically like it a lot, but the texturing on the front and rear on the grip is annoying as hell, and is going to be "reduced" tomorrow night. I don't care about a cheap gun's resale value enough to keep me from fixing it:

Then came the Taurus TX-22 compact with factory red dot.
Then, it was "so cheap it was crazy" time, and I bit on the Girsan MC9 T, for $360+. The red dot is iffy, but the gun itself is solid, basically a S&W M&P clone.
When I get the cards paid off, I see a Taurus GX4 TORO in my future with a Cyelee red dot on it.The grip is pretty close to the TX22's, and IMHO, that gun has the best grip I have ever felt, period!

Bought this 10-6 from a friend. Turns out I sold this gun to him several years ago and didn't remember doing so. It has the box, papers, cleaning rod/brush, and is like brand new.
This is going to my daughter for a house gun.

Hit the Vegas speedway show this morning. Good attendance and a lot of the usual hardware. Brought home the only two pieces that interested me:
DW Valor Vbob .45 acp - like NIB
Colt 2.5” Diamondback .38 spl - now wearing Altamont’s.

A MKII Target that I added a VQ trigger kit to. It should go quite well with the MKII Standard I've had for 20 years that I added a VQ sear and spring to at the same time.

During my most recent enforced absence I've purchased a few...sold a few.
I've picked up new Colt Pythons...one 2.5" and one 5"...
A 1922 Colt Army Special in .32-20...
Two NIB Colt Model 2000 pistols...a sales failure and much unloved but for some reason I like such orphans...
A S&W Model 52. The photo doesn't do it justice.

I recently purchased a Winchester (Miroku) 1892.
A deluxe take down model in .44 Magnum, pretty nice if I do say so myself.

That Astra A90 that I picked up, almost as an afterthought for under $160 at auction...
I decided to expand it's options
An A100 slide, and barrels for 9mm, 38 Super and 40s&w, to go with the original 45acp. I added a pair of 9mm magazines and a 9mm recoil spring assembly. The 9 and 40 fit in the 9mm mags, the 45 in the 45 mag, and the 38 Super will fit in the 45 mags when I swap out a 9mm follower.

IIRC, the AMT .45s had a tendency to gall between the slide and frame.

Yep there were reports of that. Some kind of lubes cured it. I cleaned and lubed it as it was dirty. I must admit I've put about 100 rounds through it with no problems so far... but I am not a fan of SS guns...It'll probably go somewhere else. Wife finally found the time to try the Glock 43 and likes it so she'll probably switch from her Kahr. Also got a 380 called a SCCY. She shot it too. Also ok but it too is SS. Only gave a 100 bucks for it. Got these from an estate. Got 1 mag for the Glock none for the 15-22 1 for each of the ARs . The 45 had one none for the Savage Axis 30-06 . Remington 700 ADL had Vari X II 3-9X on it. I now have a 270 again

As reported in the Reloading forum...Scheel's had primers on sale. Bought 7000 highest priced ones were CCI 41s for 74.00 approx. The rest all cost 59.75. Got 2 lbs of powder...one True Blue and the other AR Plus I figured to try...they were 26 and 23 respectively. I have a feeling prices are about at the bottoming out point and these were the best prices in a while...so I'm good for a few more years...maybe. I have a "few" thousand shotshell primers too

Two "latest purchases" and neither are handguns. But since I love old single shot rifles from the 1800's, I couldn't pass up either of these!
The first is a Sharps rifle from 1880 that records show was delivered to Carlos Gove's shop in Denver, Co. along with a group of 16 other Sharps. The group was part of an order Gove purchased at a half price sale for $17-$18 each, as Sharps was trying to save themselves from bankruptcy.
This rifle was sold to a customer, who then took it to George Freund in Durango, Co. later and had Freund do the Freund Improvements, and rebarrel the rifle to .50-3.25" from the original .45-70 chambering.
The Freund Improvements include dual extractors, camming breech block, automatic hammer rise to half cock, and two piece transfer bar/firing pin. Additionally the rifle was given a full length wiping rod, with thimbles mounted under the forearm. It has Gerorge Freund's Durango stamp on the left receiver side.
This Sharps was a mess in 1961 when my friend got it, and he sent it to Bill VanHorn in Ohio for a full restoration. Here's the original .45-70 cartridge, and the current .50-3.25" cartridgge:
My 2nd recent purchase also involves Carlos Gove's shop, and is a Rolling Block sporting rifle. Made in the mid 1870's originally, it was converted by Gove to his underlever design, and fitted with a .32-40 false muzzle Farrow barrel for target shooting. A really nice conversion, that makes the Rolling Block far better should a case ever get sticky or tough to chamber. It also is equipped with a factory single set trigger, and some nice sights. The Soule tang sight and windage globe aren't on it in these pics, as they hadn't been mounted yet.
