It's easier to control, launches more lead, and is more powerful with Brenneke Black Magic Magnum slugs.

That don't look fun to shoot at all!:eek:

My wrists started hurting just watching the video!:eek:

That gentleman is obviously highly skilled at handling that cartridge and gun, but it is astounding how closely I bet it would come to doubling due to recoil if it was a double action revolver.

Look at this screen capture from the video after he has done several shots and I am sure is tiring of the recoil and blast. In comparison there is a .45 at the height of the recoil arc and a .44 Magnum (although ported). Both with full power loads.

I'm thinking one should wear a helmet with a face shield when shooting a handgun with that much recoil.

...20 or so years ago I showed my 29-3 to a 73 year old gentleman who wasn't a "gun guy"...

...told him it was a "Dirty Harry" gun...

...he was fascinated...and said he had to try it...

...I loaded one round for him...and he took the shot...

...revolver came close to his forehead in recoil...

...he broke out in a big grin and said...WOW...

...didn't want to shoot it again however...

No doubts at all about the power and potential effectiveness of that gun and caliber relative to other handguns.

However:

For ordinary mortals, folks who don’t have the size and strength of Schwarzenegger in his heyday, this better be a one-shot stop. The chance of fast and accurate follow-up shots is pretty much zero.

Even in the hands of this shooter, who appears well-practiced and sturdily built, the gun is borderline out of control near the end of the recoil phase.

If you fire this gun with anything less than a perfect grip and stance, maybe impeded by other equipment like a backpack, binoculars etc., something to be expected in an unexpected fast-developing wilderness confrontation with a charging bear, or if, heaven forbid, you have to fire it one-handed, you’ll likely find yourself in a one-shot gunfight.
