Default Winchester '92 from 1897...

This one is a little tack-driver. Lord Slashcat and I shot it a bit this afternoon. Very pleased with the gun and 32-20 is fast becoming my new favorite rifle caliber.

Great find,Where do you get ammo for these?
I never see any down here.
My dad has one that never gets shot anymore.
He's got a small stash and reloading equipment.
I fear the brass might be a little thin.

Misty,

You've got it exactly right.
The 32-20 designation is a reference back to the black powder days. The same cartridge was loaded with approx. 20 grains of black powder.

The model 92 Winchester could be argued as having the smoothest action. The action is really quite strong for some of the calibers it was chambered for....25-20, 32-20, 38-40 are good examples along with the rare .218 Bee.

Default How about a .25/.20 gizamo?

I agree with you, the smoothness of the action is flawless, mine is a .25/.20 cal. and I still love it. It is resting in the safe though. Wish that companies could still afford to make things the old way but out of the new metals.

Giz,

That's really nice! I think I like your other one with the saddle ring better..

I've got it's little brother, a 1906 Pump .22 with a tang rear sight and marbles front sight.

I like it! As a recent convert to lever rifles, I have really grown to appreciate them. So far, three Marlins and two Winchesters in my safe, more to follow....
