Default My Matched Pair Of Engraved Colt SAA .45's

I had these guns rebuilt and engraved in the 1980's by Frank Leaman of California. One gun is 1957 (same year as me) and the is 1920.

Here's the other side. Unusual old sambar stags are scrimshawed on one side in previous picture.

What a beautiful pair of Colt SAA's!!

Do you ever shoot them? I would have a hard time, even though they would clean right up. They are just SOOO pretty

Many years ago (read: not too expensive, back then) I bought a Colt SAA in 44 Special, which isn't a 'popular' round for the Colt SAA.

But, since I reload 44 magnum, and was casting my own slugs, too, it just made sense to me.

I bought a set of real stag grips for mine, not knowing that they had to be 'fit' to each individual SAA. They dot fit perfectly, but they look nice on the revolver.

I had a guy try to buy it from me at the range. He liked the 44 Special round for the same reason I do. He offered me almost double what I had paid for it.

I load some real pussycat ammunition for mine, and take it to the range, now and then.

I haven't shot them in a long time but I used to a lot. In person the nickle is completely gone in places. I love it that way. In fact, Leaman put "antique nickle" on them. You know what that is? Nickle without a copper undercoating I think he said. It's meant to wear faster so the guns look older. No pampered safe kings here.

Awesome set! The right grip panel on the upper gun is very unique. I dont recall ever seeing a stag grip done that way. Thanx for sharing.
