Default Did Glock really sue S&W?

Yes and they won. This is from Business week...

When arch-rival Smith & Wesson in 1994 came out with a Glock-like pistol called the Sigma, Jannuzzo led a successful patent-infringement lawsuit. S&W agreed to pay an undisclosed settlement and modify its gun. An S&W spokesman declined to comment on the confidential resolution, other than to say the company had neither admitted nor denied wrongdoing.

The only thing wrong with the Sigma is the heavy trigger. It was designed that way because it is designed to be a self defense weapon with no external safety. The trigger is about the same as a double action revolver. I have a S & W, 442 and a 642 both are dao revolvers with about the same trigger pull as the Sigma.
My SW9VE has never had any kind of malfunction with well over 2000 rounds through it. It is a inexpensive, dependable, ergonomically perfect (for me), pistol with a no B.S. lifetime warranty if you ever need it.
It is not my one of my favorite range pistols but it does serve the purpose as a car or home defense weapon quite well. I don't know the statistics, but I do know the Sigma has been very succesful and is is one of S & W's top sellers.

I don't care for the Sigma line, never did. Very un S&W-ish.

I have had one over a year and 1200 rounds and it's my every day carry. My wife recently got her CCW and wanted one, now I have two. Mine has had the LSG trigger job and is absolutly perfect. Not quite as light or short a pull as a M&P or a Glock but shoots just as accurate and dependable as either. My wife's is pretty good out of the box. You say "Very un S&W-ish." I say very un snob-ish. We are not all collectors of fine handguns. Some of us just want to protect ourselves with a dependable pistol and the Sigma fills that bill for a lot of us.
