My 1ST Digital Photo And The Prettiest Rifle I Have
Well, we finally sort of figured this camera out. Here's my Weatherby Mark V Deluxe. It's 7MM Weatherby Magnum. It's got one of the most goreous stocks I ever saw. It looks more flamboyant in person.

I've bought a number of rifles only because of the beauty of the wood. Caliber or brand doesn't really matter. Well, it does because only a few makers really use top quality wood.
I'm also aware opinions differ on what constitutes beauty. My personal favorites are produced by Browning (and I've been buying them since the 1960s). My best is a BiCentennial 45-70 (B78 Model).
I also know the rifles we buy with great wood might not be the best target guns or the best hunting guns. It doesn't matter. Our guns look better than anyone else's!

My dad always wanted a Weatherby so I bought him this one about 13 years ago. He loved it. Unfortunately it's mine now. I prefer plain rifles and fancy pistols. But I sure get mesmerized looking at the wood on this one. As far as accuracy, we'll see later as my dad never really shot it much.

I had a Weatherby Orion O/U that had the best wood I ever saw on a factory gun, but every time I shot it a little piece would break off. Traded it for a Remington 3200 and never looked back

The last gunshow I went to, there was an OMG beautiful rifle with a birdseye maple stock. It was nearly impossible to put it down...

I am an old wood worker - to me, the beauty of wood is depicted by a well-defined grain... and that rifle is a beauty!

Like y'all, I LOVE beautiful wood.
Walked in A Memphis gun show about ten years ago. There sat a very pedestrian Rem. 870 pump, on a display stand. Mundane as could be, but it sported wood that would easily grade Triple A Fancy. The seller said it was factory, just a fluke.
Priced about $ 100 over normal.
I walked around the show, once, decided to grab it, and of course, it was gone.
Dag nab it !!!!!!
