Default I need a new stock for a '97 Winchester.

I've got three of the Boyds unfinished stocks and forends still sitting for guns that I need to put together...

But I want to get a new "old style" stock with the rounded pistol grip...and I cannot find one!

I am going to try to have one made, but where to go.
The gun it came off of has some beautiful figured wood in the forearm, and the stock had it too, but when I bought it, the stock was already glued back together terribly.

This one is high condition and a 40K serial number (1899), and except for the stock, I likely wouldn't have ever seen it.

So, where can I get one made like I want- without costing more than what the gun is worth?

Depending on it's final use (display or shooter) have you considered having it restored? Unglued, maybe dowled internaly and reglued with an epoxy or polyurethane. An expert woodworker or custom furniture maker should be able the advise.

And you will keep the original wood. For less than a new stock (maybe).

I just recently saw a online site that offered some good looking wood for these, but can't remember the name of the place.

Had a varied selection of wood for lod guns, and made them themselves. Wasn't Boyds, wasn't Bishop or Fajen either. Place was in Missouri. They did have 97 stocks.

I'm thinking....

Macon Gunstocks....That's the place! Check it out.
