Colt 1908 .380 blued pistol
I saw one of the most beautiful hand guns today. The Colt in my title.
The dealer wants $ 900.00 for it and I also bought it. Any comments on this fine looking pistol? It looks new and was made in 1924. Beautiful bluing on it. I want it.

Lets see some pic's,Is it like mine?
Here's mine Same year I think. I love this pistol so sleek and thin. The holster in the picture with the pistol is one I made for it. It's a knock off of a military officers holster. except I didn't dye it. It's natural leather ,sealed against moisture and dirt.

I used to have one like that, and of that vintage. Mine had walnut grips. The ex wife sold it on me just before we split up. They are a beautifull gun. Reminded me of the gangster era.

Great pistol probably worked on by my forefathers here, in Hartford, Connecticut. A style that never goes out of style.

A nice shooter grade 1908 is on my list, a classic pocket pistol to be sure. Post a pic if you can!

I have one my uncle gave me years ago in .32acp caliber, instead of .380 cal. It's the same gun but Colt called it the Model 1903. Easy carry gun and feeds all brands of .32acp ammo without fail. Oddly enough the same magazine is used in both caliber guns and will feed either .380 or .32 ammo, regardless of what caliber marking is on the magazine. Ed #15

Congratulations on your model 1908. Great little guns.
I have been able to acquire several Colt's Model M Pocket Pistols, though mine are all .32 ACP caliber. I have always been attracted to the classic lines of these pistols and mine have proved to be very accurate and very reliable.
Here's a picture of my 1903 made in 1926.
I have two very nice ones in original Colt blue. I have two more that I picked up that were good shooters but the finish was just about gone. I sent those two off and had them parkerized, my wife now keeps one of them as her bedside pistol.

I've said it before, that those are the sweetest looking auto pistols ever made. If 1911s can still be made, why not 1903s and 1908s?

I always thought it amazing where that tiny .380 case developed its power. I am told I shouldnt have, but I used to use super vel in mine.
I would like to see them made in .22 LR too. Mine came out of Jack First`s personnal collection when he ran the gunshop in lancaster when I knew him. I seem to remember mine was from 1927. That gun was as much as a work of art as just being a gun. As someone else said it was flat, smooth and easy to carry. I used to display mine at gun shows to help draw people to the table. I put a outrageous price on it so it wouldnt sell, talked a few out of buying it, then the week my ex ran off she sold it!

Wasn't there some Texas-based company that was selling copies of the 1908 about 10 or 15 years ago? Lone Star or something like that?

I'm envious! I have four of these little poppers and my favorite carry is a .32. They function fine (like all autos they might need some tuning)-They're accurate-and have nice triggers.
For an equivalent pocket revolver-my wifes M36 is most excellent.
Remington (M51), Savage, and FN (M1921?) made pocket autos-I'd like to get a Savage-I have the others. Astra also made a great small auto (I think it was M300?) We have one with Nazi markings-looks brand new!

I also have a Remington model 51, which was a direct competitor of the Colt's pocket pistols in those days. The 51 is also a dandy pocket pistol but Remington never could compete price wise with the Colt's.

I'm now a little afraid to shoot my 51-I broke the extractor-got hold of one-but they have to be machined a little to work right-I'd rather not break it again. But-its a slick carry gun. I think that these were fire-blued-very nice.

I love those Colt's. It's my goal to get one in .380 one day. My dad has two in .32 and they're awesome shooters.
