I have been keeping an eye out for one of these for a couple of years and since I am cheap, I havent bought one yet....
I was in Pittsburgh PA this past weekend and thanks to a member here I went to Ace's gun shop, (Great place) They had this Beretta 948,, .22 lr handgun for a price of 200 OTD,,, So I bought it
Now I will mention they also had a couple of 10-5s with 4" barrels and diamond magnas for 215 each, Both with import marks, But since I already have a few Model 10s, I passed,, But I would think that they are still there if you call them and want them, Seem like real nice folks there!
Anyway, I was able to run a mag of bulk .22 ammo through the gun in my tube in the basement and it runs prefect,, Nice light trigger and the finish is real nice, Not showing signs of much use at all.....
I have a soft spot for these mid sized Berettas....
In the pic below
The 948, .22lr
The 418, .25 acp
the 1934, 380 acp
the 1935, 32 acp
They all have been shot alot by me and never a malfunction of any sort.
The 948 is from 1954
the others are from the early 40s.
I cant wait to get the 948 out to the range to see about it's accuracy, They seem to be real well made firearms and the 948 will replace my Walther p22 plastic .22,,, WHEW another plastic gun will be out of the safe!!!!!!
I am aware that the 948 can have a 6" barrel and I will need to find one sometime, If you have any leads please inform me!!!!
Happy Holidays ! ! ! ! ! !
